It's Our Lighthouse: Oak Island, North Carolina
This short compilation was created to create awareness and help a national landmark in its hour of need. Lighthouses that were once vital for travel and trade are being decommissioned and sold across North America. Technological innovations have reduced the need for lighthouses and have reduced the amount of funding and upkeep that they receive. These large structures are part of our heritage and have guided wayward sailors safely home hundreds of years.
Steve Chapin has strong ties in Brunswick County, North Carolina and has been fundraising and doing charitable work for over a decade. More recently, Steve has been playing shows in the Southport area to create awareness and raise money for the New Hope Clinic. In 1998, a small group of compassionate people with a big vision joined together and founded New Hope Clinic to give the uninsured a chance to receive basic medical care. A small staff and over 150 volunteers, including doctors, dentists, FNPs, nurses, pharmacists, EMTs, administrative support personnel (and many others) contribute over 10,000 volunteer hours to provide over 6,000 patient encounters to nearly 1,000 individuals each year!
